SB Appliance Servicing Ltd – Terms &Conditions

1. Consumer Rights

All services are carried out in accordance with the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (NZ). These Terms do not override your consumer rights.


2. Estimates & Validity
  • Replacement estimates are valid for 7 days.

  • Repair estimates are valid for 14 days.

  • Call-out charges remain valid for 3 months for the same appliance and fault, unless a new issue arises (e.g. pest damage, power surge, water exposure).


3. Parts & Warranty
  • SB Appliance Servicing Ltd does not sell parts separately — parts are supplied only as part of appliance servicing.

  • We service: fridges, dishwashers, insinkerators, ovens, washing machines, dryers.

  • All installed parts come with a 1-year warranty, unless otherwise specified (e.g. LG and Electrolux parts).

  • Warranty becomes void if damage is caused by:

    • Cockroaches, rats, or other pests

    • Power surges or flooding

    • Customer misuse, or repairs carried out by a third party/DIY


4. Cancellation & Restocking
  • Cancelling an accepted order after 24 hours may incur a 20% restocking fee.

  • Call-out and diagnosis charges are non-refundable, regardless of repair outcome.


5. Delays & ETA for Parts

Delays in receiving parts may occur due to:

  • Supply chain disruptions

  • Inaccurate supplier inventory

  • Overseas production or shipping delays

  • Fluctuations in demand

  • Supplier–manufacturer communication issues

We will keep you informed of any part delays.


6. Access & Appointments
  • Customers must ensure safe and clear access to the appliance. Unsafe or blocked access may result in rescheduling or extra charges.

  • Missed appointments or cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice may incur a fee.

  • We do not take responsibility for plumbing or electrical issues outside the appliance.

  • No warranty is provided for customer-supplied parts.


7. Additional Charges
  • Quotes apply only to the listed work.

  • Additional issues found during service will be discussed and charged only with your approval.


8. Payment Terms
  • Call-out fees are invoiced and payable upfront, especially when:

    • The customer is not home.

    • A third party (e.g. property owner or manager) requests the job.

  • Remaining charges are due in full upon job completion, unless pre-arranged otherwise.

  • All payments must be made within 5 days or by the due date stated on the invoice/quote (whichever comes first).

Failure to pay by the due date may result in:

  • Interest charges: 20% interest on any overdue balance.

  • Credit default: A payment default may be lodged with a credit reporting agency.

  • Debt collection: Referral to a debt collection agency and/or legal action.

  • Additional costs: You will be liable for all recovery costs. A 20% late payment fee will apply, and collection charges will be added to the outstanding balance.

9. Photos & Documentation

Technicians may take photos of work for records, quality checks, or warranty purposes. These are handled in accordance with NZ privacy regulations.


10. Ownership & Risk
  • Ownership of parts/materials remains with SB Appliance Servicing Ltd until paid in full.

  • Risk passes to the customer once parts are installed.


11. Disputes & Governing Law

Any disputes will be handled under New Zealand law and, if required, resolved under the Arbitration Act 1996.
